A day trip to Thonikadavu
Where Heritage enhances the Hospitality
While enjoying your holiday at Kanan Beach Resort, you will also have the opportunity to visit a place with traditional Kerala style house and experience heritage in a typical ambience.
‘Thonikadavu’, the place where a heritage home is situated, is located in a remote rural locality on the outskirts of Kundamkuzhi. It is easily assessable by road and lies about an hour’s drive from Kanan Beach Resort. This place, which was built in the early 60’s, features typical Kerala architecture, which is rare to come by these days. With the serene Payaswini river and Muliyar forest close by, it is Nature’s paradise providing you with a peaceful and pollution-free atmosphere which you can delight in.
A day trip to this place could include and leisure activities like trekking, river walk, boating and plantation visit. During monsoon one will also be treated to a gushing fresh water streams, with their many mini waterfalls, meandering through the plantation, surrounding forests and vegetation. Kundamkunhi Panchalingeshwara Temple is also close by. |
